As a teenager, Aubrey started a teen cover band (What's Next) with other talented musicians from her school. Around this time she also joined another local cover band (The Floats) as lead singer. On her 18th birthday, she had the privilege to sing, God Bless American for a crowd of over 26,000 at Citizen Bank Park during a Philadelphia Phillies baseball game.
People who heard Aubrey sing always asked, "When is she going to try out for one of those singing competitions on TV?" When she was 17 years old, she made the Top 100 finalist on The Voice. The following year American Idol returned so Aubrey decided to give it shot. Her American Idol journey took her to Pittsburgh, PA, then Los Angeles, CA, to New York City, and back west where she made it to the second round of Hollywood Week (Top 75). Aubrey was on numerous American Idol commercials throughout ABC's Season #1 and Action News (Philadelphia ABC) did a feature spot on her American Idol journey.
